Please do not put wet wipes down the toilet

Wet wipes block drains and add costs to your service charge

This year, the Co-op has had to employ a drainage company on several occasions to clear away wet wipe blockages. Sewers are only designed to take water from toilets, sinks, baths and showers along with human waste and toilet tissue.

Please do not put the following down the toilet or sink:

· Wet wipes – even the ones labelled ‘flushable’ block your pipes.

· Sanitary items, including towels and tampons.

· Fat, oil and food scraps that become solid in pipes.
